CYCLE OF PRAYER  Ordinary Time  - AUTUMN

During Ordinary Time from September to Advent, we are asked to pray for these intentions:

The Spread of the Gospel; the Fruits of Human Work, and the Reverent Use of Creation; Justice and  Peace in the World; All Victims of War; Young People; Prisoners and their Families.   

PRIEST’S TRAINING FUND

The fund remains open until 26th November for individual and group donations.

JOURNEY IN FAITH

Our Journey in Faith continues on Thursday, 9th November at 9am and 7pm in St Cuthbert’s Chapel.

PARISH CHRISTMAS CARD

Our Parish Christmas Card is now on sale. (large 30p each or 4 for £1, small 25p each or 5 for £1).  They are blank inside so you can send your own personal greeting or use them at other times. The money raised will go to our centenary projects.

EVANGELISATION

The Diocesan Evangelisation Team are holding a training session at the Holy Rosary on Sunday 19th November from 3pm–5pm and on Monday 20th November 7pm-9pm. All who are interested are asked to attend.

MEMORIAL MASS

Today, Saturday 4th November, Mass is celebrated for all deceased members of the parish at 6.30pm. The following is a list of all who have died during the last 12 months:

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS

An afternoon of prayer, reflection and practical, has been arranged for Eucharistic Ministers on 26th November at 2.30pm. All ministers are asked to attend this meeting as Child Protection & Vulnerable Adults will be discussed. If you cannot attend please let us know.

FAIR TRADE

Next weekend we will have our Fair Trade Stall.

PARISH COUNCIL

The next Parish Council Meeting is on Monday 6th November after Mass. There was no need for an election as there were not enough nominations to fill all the vacancies.  So all who were nominated this year and all serving members of the council should attend this meeting.  All parish groups are asked to send a representative to the meeting.

WOMEN AGLOW

The next meeting of Women Aglow is on 15th November at the Pullman Lodge.  Meal and coffee £10.50 and men as well as women are welcome. Contact Bernadette (.

YEARLY BOX

All monies for the Yearly Box must be paid up by Friday November 10th. It  will be paid out on Tuesday November 14th.

ANGELUS LUNCH

Our next Lunch is on Wednesday November 8th. Please let us know if you are unable to come. Reminder—Christmas Lunch Out is December 20th.

WALK IN HOPE

A Walk n’ Hope day will be held at St Patrick’s Church, Glenfield Road, Stockton on Tees, on Saturday 11th November 2006 from 10.00am till 5.00pm. MASS OF REMEMBRANCE

A Mass of Remembrance for deceased teaching and non-teaching staff who worked in the City of Sunderland  Schools, Tuesday 7th November at 7.00pm., Our Lady Queen of Peace, Penshaw. Refreshments will be served afterwards. All Welcome.

ST AIDAN’S CATHOLIC CHURCH—HOLY ISLAND

Bishop Kevin has asked us to appeal on behalf of  St Aidan’s, Holy Island. The church on the Holy Island of Lindisfarne is in desperate need of refurbishment to be a place of prayer and reflection, discovery and refreshment. Please take a leaflet from the back of church for more details.
