CAFOD...LIVESIMPLY...FAMILY FAST...FOCUSAFRICA

Nicaragua, Peru, Sudan, Bangladesh, Mozambique............these are a few of the areas world-wide where CAFOD is striving to create a world where everyone gets a fair share of God's creation.  Some are disaster responses, but most are the year-on-year essential restoring of dignity to the destitute, as with FOCUSAFRICA.  Remarkably, this Autumn, CAFOD will devote ALL the donations of FAMILY FAST to the people of Zimbabwe.  Why?  Because our brothers and sisters there are in desperate, critical plight.  Food is short.  One in three is expected to be without food by March,  Many will run out of food very soon.  CAFOD, through its trusted Church ' partners ' in Zimbabwe, who have direct access to the worst affected areas, reaching 18,000 of the most vulnerable families, will provide food, and seeds and tools to produce the next harvest.  CAFOD is our Church's response to the Encyclical Letter of Pope Paul VI in 1967, called The Progress ( or Development ) of Peoples in which he said : '' The time has come ( in 1967 !! ) for more than local, isolated action.  Everyone must act together to tackle every side of the problem of human development. '' LIVESIMPLY is CAFOD's present initiative to achieve real progress through our sharing as a world community and caring for creation.  So please give  generously to FAMILY FAST for our  desperate sisters and  brothers in Zimbabwe either this week or next week.  And pray for them and for CAFOD's work for us.

''Thy Kingdom come : Thy Will be done : on earth as in Heaven''
