NEW ROTAS

New rotas for church cleaning and newsletter folders are available this weekend from the back of church for all involved.

There are amended copies of the Welcome Rota for the Vigil Mass available from the back of church.

PENTECOST

In two weeks time we will be celebrating the birthday of the Church.  For the last few years we have asked you to wear something red with varying degrees of success.  At the Liturgy meeting on Monday we decided to ask you to make a greater effort to come to Mass that weekend wearing red.  So please let us see the church turn red!

CARE OF THE CHURCH

We have a shortage of volunteers to clean the church so, as a consequence, it is only cleaned once every two weeks and our re-ordered church is starting to get a little shabby.  Biscuits, chewing gum and finger marks on the glass at the back of church are particular problems.  Please help us to keep the church clean.  If you do make a mess the Hoover “lives” in the old confessional and other cleaning materials are in the working sacristy.  Likewise if anything gets broken or damaged come and tell us, so that we don’t find out when we need to use these things and can’t because the damage hasn’t been reported to us. We now have many groups using the church and each one is responsible for leaving the building as they found it. We are all responsible both as individuals and groups for keeping God’s house clean and tidy.

The statue will be placed in the ‘Glass House’ Chapel in memory of Fr. Dan Treacey

MAY DEVOTIONS

As part of the May devotions to our Lady our Filipino community are organising and leading us in a May Flower Festival on Saturday 31st May.  It starts at 4.30p.m. with a procession to St. Mary Magdalene’s.  The statue of our Lady will be crowned and we will come back to St. Joseph’s and finish with the Vigil Mass at 6.30p.m.  Children under 12 are invited to take a special part in the procession.
